The BIOME physio service

Physio for ADHD

Use movement and physical activity to help you live well with ADHD

BIOME is a neuro-inclusive physiotherapy service for people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The BIOME approach is based on the latest evidence-based research on physical activity and ADHD. This comprehensive whole-person care moves beyond traditional medical ideas about ADHD to integrate the physical, mental, and life factors that combine in this complex (and often misunderstood) neurotype.

Physio for Everyone

Address physical health issues with a fresh perspective

The mind and body are connected, which means thoughts, feelings, and life events can affect our physical health. By understanding how your whole life may impact your physical symptoms, you can resolve long-standing physical issues and improve your overall well-being. The BIOME approach is based on the biopsychosocial model of health, which combines the biological, psychological and social factors that may be impacted on your health.

Facts and questions

Is this for me?

BIOME primarily focuses on ADHD. However, physical activity and exercise improve everyone's health and well-being, so it is suitable for all people and all ages. All you need is a desire to make physical activity a part of your life, and you can start to feel a difference in how you feel. You can address existing health issues or use movement to improve symptoms that interfere with your life.

Why does physical activity help with ADHD?

Movement and mental processing are closely interlinked, and people with neurodivergent thinking often benefit from integrating physical activity into their lives to help improve their symptoms. Unfortunately, the physical and social environment can fail to meet their needs, resulting in challenges at school, the workplace, home, or social settings. The great news is that these challenges can be managed by developing ways to support healthy physical activity and exercise that are targeted to your needs.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis?

No! Everyone is welcome to access BIOME physio.

What are the fees?

Your initial 15-minute appointment is free. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your requirements to make sure BIOME is the right choice for you. Following this first contact, a standard appointment with Helen is £95 and lasts between 45 and 60 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your needs. Typically, there are a minimum of 3 sessions, up to a regular appointment where you see Helen on a continuous basis.
